Just got home from the Pro Only night at IMATS LA 2013 and I had such a good time! I ran into Laura Wright, the Makeup Department, Program Manager, at my old alma mater Vancouver Film School (go VFS!). Laura is the sweetest most positive person. It’s always a pleasure to hang with her.
IMATS LA is a sold out event and it is literally elbow to elbow with pro and everyday shoppers looking for information and deals on makeup, especially on Saturday, so the pro only event this evening was a pleasure. It was nice to have a glass or two of wine while casually cruising the isles of the convention center. I got a chance to chat with the creators of new makeup lines like Snog Cosmetics and MakeupGeek. Both are affordable lines with a great color selection. I purchased a few products from them and can’t wait to tell you about them.
Of course there are old favs like MAC, Make Up For Ever and Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and Royal Langnickel Makeup Brushes, just to name a few. Plus I got a chance to see the debut of a short documentary on Oscar-nominated make-up artist Kazuhiro Tsuji, created by Juliet Landau and Deverill Weekes, on the Main Stage, along with the unveiling of a new Tsuji creation made specifically for IMATS. (A commercial for the documentary and unveiling below.) I can’t wait until tomorrow!
