The new Urban Decay Book of Shadows Vol. IV kicks it up a notch:
There is no way you could confuse Urban Decay’s Book of Shadows IV (BOS IV) with the Book of Shadows Vol III (BOS II), which is still a favorite of mine.
BOS IV has more bang for your buck! This set includes:
- 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Perversion (carbon black)
- SuperCurl Mascara in black
- Eyeshadow Primer Potion
- 16 eyeshadow shades (10 of which are brand spanking new!).
- How-to videos unveiling five new looks that Urban Decay created just for BOS IV palette.
- mini key chain speaker so you can listen to your favorite tunes on your phone while getting all dolled up.
All of this is wrapped up in a pretty little box bursting with butterflies. What more could you want?
At first, I liked the more vibrant BOS III shadow colors better than those in BOS IV, which has more neutral, subtle hues. You can see below that BOS III shadows are more striking and even include black. The deeper jewel tones in BOS III are great on darker skin. I guess the trend for fall is a more neutral eye. Plus, if Urban Decay came out with the same old jewel toned shades, would we even want it?
After testing out a few swatches, I started taking a liking to the pale hues. I also appreciate that Urban Decay keeps mixing it up with new, fun colors. Gotta stay fresh! Urban Decay’s BOS IV will add more variety to your makeup kit and a little music to get your day (or evening) started. I am putting this at the tip ,top of my Wish List!
